Photos By New OwnerIn October 2011, I sold my 1964 Cadillac to a friendly couple in Ohio. They flew to Colorado and drove her into Nebraska, and then had her shipped the rest of the way. This will be my last photo gallery of "Elma" (as I called her). The top two photos are mine, but the others below were taken by Butch and Anne as they drove across Colorado into Nebraska. That was really kind of them to send me pictures and I'm so glad the car drove well for them. -Steve
The new and happy owners. Butch and his wife.
My final picture as Butch drove away from my house in Buena Vista, Colorado. Bye bye Elma!
Reminder: Beginning with this picture, these were all taken by Butch. It turns out they decided to stay for the night in town. They made the scenic drive to Cottonwood Pass on the Continental Divide, dined on Main Street in Buena Vista and just relaxed. There's the 1964 Cadillac sitting in front of the Liars Lodge Bed & Breakfast with Mount Princeton (14,197 feet) in the background.
The next morning, as they were leaving the area, I figured they might pull over to snap pictures of the grand mountain views.
They took U.S. Highway 285 to Denver and continued onto the plains of northeast Colorado.
150 miles of nothing. ;)
Butch got the car up to 90 miles per hour. No doubt he wanted to get the eastern Colorado plains over with!
Driving through "corn country" near the Colorado and Nebraska border.
Once in Venango, Nebraska, the car was shipped via a trailer to Ohio.
Interestingly, they spotted a 1961 Cadillac nearby. Very pretty! So many classic Cadillacs, so little time ...
